This playful building is actually three: The twin tower Apex, and the more subdued Brady, and Gilman buildings. Civil War photographer Mathew Brady had a studio here until he went bankrupt in 1873. And it is said that George Washington’s portrait painter, Gilbert Stuart, had a studio on this site before these buildings were built.
