The story of the Wilson Theater on Wilson Boulevard is the story of movie houses in the last 60 years. A single screen first-run movie house in the ’40s to ’60s; it fell on hard times and played X-rated films in the ’70s: flared to life briefly showing Indo-Pakistani films in the ’80s: and was finally shuttered and torn down in the ’90s.
